Q & A

So there's this person. Up until resently they have been a jerk to my friends and me, but this person apologized for their rudeness and has asks to become friends with me. They have also hinted at being more than friends in the future. I kind of want to go for it and possibly start a relationship, but I have several fears about that. Firstly, my other friends still despise this person and shun me for accepting them into my life as a friend. Secondly, this is similar to a past situation that ended in heartbreak, and I do not that to happen again. Do you have any advice on where I should take it from here?

Why the sudden shift of feelings from this person? Someone who is a jerk to you and your friends can’t just change themselves without a motive. Think about why your old pals hate this person. Is it a good reason? Yes, maybe this person wants to be in some kind of romantic relationship with you; I doubt all they want is to be “just friends.” Why would they suddenly change their mind from their former standing point though? Do they want to be friends, lovers, or just fuck buddies? Sadly I don’t know “this person” and their character so I can’t give you the best advice. Perhaps your friends have had a bad history with this person, but which side was in the wrong? Are your friends just being controlling or do they really care about you? Do you have any unbiased friends who know this person to seek advice from too? Hope I could help a bit. Good luck with your dilemma.
